Updated 1 June 2020

Please check our website and Facebook page regularly for updates about our events in June and beyond. The ongoing Coronavirus situation means that events are still liable to be postponed.

Philip Wilby has written about Arthur Bliss, Herbert Howells and brass bands. Read the article here. You can also read Phil's latest letter to the membership.

One of our members, John Riley, has put together a series of improvisations on familiar tunes. See how many you can identify!

Although the Leeds International Organ Festival has been postponed to 2021, there is a YouTube channel  where we will be able to enjoy recorded performances by the players due to appear at the Festival. All the recitalists have agreed to return in 2021 when we will enjoy fantastic music-making live.

We are reviewing how we conduct meetings, and the first stage of this is our Safeguarding policy.

We continue adding items to the website, including videos submitted by our members. Members are welcome to submit articles or videos, and we will include them on the Website and the Facebook page. We can also use the Facebook page to discuss topics and ask each other questions. See our video gallery here.

We will keep adding new links to the Resources page. For example, the Royal College of Organists have generously made some of their online learning resources available free of charge during the current lockdown, including videos from some very eminent teachers and players covering practice techniques, repertoire and playing for services. The cinema organ makes an appearance as well!

We hope that you will find something to inspire; maybe trying new practice techniques or learning some new repertoire.
